Once an individual has decided to address their drug or alcohol problem, detoxification is often advised. Withdrawing on one’s own from alcohol, opiates or a number of other substances is potentially life threatening. A number of well-respected treatment centers licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania make their home in the Philadelphia region. Some of them are linked below. All treatment facilities listed offer 24-hour admission departments and provide detoxification, inpatient and outpatient services.

Malvern Institute was founded in 1948 and is one of the oldest drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers in the country. Malvern operates two centers – one in Malvern, PA, and one in Willow Grove, PA.

Livengrin Foundation was founded in 1966 and is located in Bensalem, PA.

MIrmont Treatment Center is located in Lima, PA, and was founded over 25 years ago. Mirmont is part of the Main Line Health organization.

Caron Treatment Center is located in Wernersville, PA, outside Reading, PA. Caron was founded almost 60 years ago.
